Director, Science UPD8
Tony leads the content team of editors and writers. For a long time, he’s been passionate about the idea of students studying the science issues and talking points - while they’re still happening, not waiting until they’ve been fossilised into textbooks, year later.
Tony is a full-time curriculum developer, working on initiatives that bring more contemporary and engaging science into schools. He also develops multimedia and learning game software. He played a key role in developing the ASE Science Year CD-ROMs, and the Pupil Researcher Initiative. Before that he worked for BBC education and was a science teacher and Head of Physics for seven years, in the UK and abroad, until he realised he was better at creating the lessons than teaching them.
Tony Sherborne is Creative Director for the Centre for Science Education and a NESTA Fellow.
