Writer, Science UPD8

Roger is acting Head at Ripple Junior junior school in Barking. He is also currently Chair of ASE Primary Science Committee. Roger is passionate about science education to the point of obsession. He has a particular interest in promoting the effective use of ICT in primary science lessons, and also developing quality classroom dialogue. Writing for Primary UPD8 has provided the perfect opportunity to combine these two interests.

Work for the ASE has given Roger the opportunity to work in many areas of primary science education. He has served on a variety of advisory panels including those for the DfES, QCA and the DTI.

Roger has written for a many publications and periodicals. He has also been involved in education television with the BBC, Channel 4, Teachers TV and the Royal Television Society. However, his greatest love is working with children and their teachers either in their own classrooms or through providing primary science CPD at local, regional, national and international events.
